Job description

The scope of this role covers two closely connected strategic areas: company-wide and product compliance and public funding (grants and subsidies). The role is designed as an embedded expert function, working across teams to ensure regulatory alignment while actively supporting growth through external funding opportunities.

  • Owns and maintains the overall compliance framework of the company, with a strong focus on product and regulatory compliance.

  • Monitors relevant laws, regulations, standards, and certification requirements at national and EU level.

  • Translates regulatory requirements into practical implications for products, processes, and internal decision-making.

  • Develops and maintains compliance checklists, internal guidelines, and control frameworks.
    Acts as the main point of contact for external regulatory bodies, certification authorities, and auditors (e.g. TÜV).

  • Supports product and technical teams in ensuring compliance throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Identifies compliance risks and proposes preventive and corrective measures.

  • Provides structured compliance reporting and recommendations to management.

  • Continuously scouts and monitors public funding opportunities, including EU programs, national and regional grants and subsidies.

  • Assesses the strategic and operational fit of funding opportunities with company objectives and capabilities.

  • Coordinates the preparation of inputs and documentation for grant and funding applications.

  • Ensures visibility and understanding of eligibility criteria, obligations, and compliance requirements. related to public funding.

  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and external partners on funded initiatives.

  • Tracks deadlines, program updates, and changes in funding conditions.

  • Provides management with clear and actionable overviews of funding opportunities and recommendations.

  • Works closely with product, engineering, legal, finance, and leadership teams.

  • Acts as a central knowledge holder for regulatory and funding-related topics.

  • Supports strategic planning by identifying regulatory constraints and funding enablers.

  • Contributes to building scalable, repeatable compliance and funding processes.

  • Balances regulatory rigor with business pragmatism.

Experience requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, quality management, risk management, legal support, or public funding / grants

  • Hands-on experience working in a regulated environment or with products subject to standards, certifications, or regulatory requirements

  • Practical exposure to product compliance across the product lifecycle is strongly preferred

  • Experience with public funding, grants, or subsidy programs (EU, national, or regional), including evaluation or application support, is an advantage

  • Experience in a cross-functional role, working with product, technical, and business team

Education

University degree in Law, Business, Economics, Engineering, Public Administration, Quality Management, or a related field

Other requirements

  • Understanding of EU and national regulatory frameworks

  • Ability to interpret and apply standards, directives, and regulations to business and product contexts

  • Familiarity with documentation and audit processes

  • Knowledge of certification and conformity assessment processes is a strong advantage

  • Ability to work with legal, regulatory, and funding documentation in English is essential

  • Experience with compliance or documentation tools, internal audit frameworks, or project coordination tools

  • Strong documentation and reporting skills

  • Structured, independent working style with strong ownership mindset

Certificate requirements

Advantageous:

  • Compliance-related certifications (e.g. Certified Compliance Officer, ISO/Quality-related certifications, Risk Management certificates)

  • Experience or certification related to EU funding programs (e.g. Horizon Europe, national grant schemes)

  • Familiarity with ISO standards (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 27001 – depending on industry)

  • Experience working with or coordinating certification bodies (e.g. TÜV or equivalent)​
