Technical Solution Engineer
Job description
The Technical Solutions Engineer is responsible for the technical design, calculations, and configuration of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions. The role focuses on engineering execution, system sizing, and technical support, ensuring that BESS solutions meet project, customer, and grid requirements.
Prepare technical designs and configurations of BESS solutions based on defined product platforms and system architectures;
Perform technical calculations and system sizing, including: energy and power sizing, performance and efficiency calculations, losses and degradation assumptions, basic technical inputs for cost estimation;
Develop technical layouts, single-line diagrams, and system documentation (where applicable);
Support the evaluation of technical feasibility for customer and project-specific requirements;
Configure BESS components and subsystems, including batteries, PCS, EMS, transformers, containers, and auxiliary systems;
Ensure technical compatibility and compliance between hardware and software components;
Support EMS configuration, monitoring, and basic control logic alignment;
Assist with grid code and interconnection requirement analysis;
Provide technical support during pre-sales and tendering phases, including preparation of technical documentation and solution concepts;
Support project teams during engineering, implementation, and commissioning phases;
Respond to technical queries from internal teams and customers;
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, calculations, and configuration records;
Follow defined technical standards, product specifications, and configuration rules;
Support continuous improvement of engineering tools, templates, and technical workflows;
Work closely with the Product Development & Technical Solutions Manager and follow defined product and technical guidelines;
Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, and external partners as required;
Escalate technical risks, limitations, and deviations in a timely manner.

Personality requirements
Experience requirements:
Experience in energy storage, battery systems, or power solutions is preferred.
Strong knowledge of system-level integration for energy storage and power systems.
Experience in testing, validation, and technical problem-solving.
Understanding of relevant safety and industry standards (IEC, UL, ISO, etc.).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience supporting pre-sales or technical solutioning is highly desirable.
Certificates requirement:
Lean Product Development, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher)
Battery/energy storage or power systems certification
Project management certification (PMP, Prince2, or equivalent)
Other requirements:
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to work effectively across functions and with customers.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and client interaction.

Company description
InoBat is a Slovakia-based company established in January 2019 aiming to create an R&D cluster and accelerator focusing on the development of battery solutions in the energy and e-mobility sectors. InoBat develops technologies with international partners looking to expand their global reach to the European continent in general, especially Central and Eastern Europe.
InoBat Auto, one of its flagship projects, is a Slovak battery production and R&D company. Together with its technological partner Wildcat Discovery Technologies, its aim is to build the first vehicle lithium-ion battery production line and research center in Slovakia.
