Job description

The Product Compliance Expert acts as the strategic owner of our product certification and regulatory strategy. This role works cross-functionally across the entire company, collaborating with various teams to identify opportunities and engineer practical solutions that ensure regulatory alignment while supporting business growth. The Expert is responsible for guiding the company through complex certification processes and ensuring that all products meet stringent international standards from design to market entry.

  • Driving the company's productcompliancestrategy and ensuring alignment with national and EU laws

  • Providing expert guidance to engineering and product teams on technical standards and regulations

  • Managing the product certification process and acting as the key advisor to management oncompliancereadiness

  • Serving as the primary expert partner for certification bodies and auditors (e.g. TÜV)

  • Overseeing productcomplianceacross the entire development lifecycle, from concept to mass production

  • Managing the creation and maintenance of technical files,compliancechecklists, and declarations of conformity

  • Proactively identifying regulatory risks and architecting preventive and corrective solutions

  • Establishing and optimizing internalcomplianceframeworks and control processes

  • Providing leadership with strategic insights on regulatory changes

  • Ensuring that technical documentation and audit preparations meet the highest industry standards

  • Balancing high-level regulatory rigor with business goals to ensure efficient time-to-market

Requirements

Experience

  • 3+ years of professional experience in productcompliance, regulatory affairs, or technical standards management

  • Proven track record of successfully guiding products through complex certification cycles

  • Experience working in a cross-functional role, collaborating closely with engineering, R&D, and leadership

  • Established history of managing relationships with certification authorities (e.g. TÜV, SGS, or equivalent)

  • Hands-on experience with technical product documentation and conformity assessment

Education & Knowledge

  • University degree in Engineering, Law, Quality Management, or a related field

  • Technical or engineering background is a strong advantage for understanding product architectures

  • Deep understanding of EU and national regulatory frameworks (Directives and Regulations)

  • Expert knowledge of conformity assessment processes and technical documentation

  • Proficiency in relevant ISO standards (e.g. ISO 9001)

Languages & Skills

  • English – fluent (written and spoken)

  • Exceptional ability to analyze and interpret complex legal and technical documentation

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams

  • Highly structured, independent, and result-oriented working style

  • Ability to synthesize complex regulatory data into clear, actionable business recommendations

InoBat is a Slovakia-based company established in January 2019 aiming to create an R&D cluster and accelerator focusing on the development of battery solutions in the energy and e-mobility sectors. InoBat develops technologies with international partners looking to expand their global reach to the European continent in general, especially Central and Eastern Europe.

InoBat Auto, one of its flagship projects, is a Slovak battery production and R&D company. Together with its technological partner Wildcat Discovery Technologies, its aim is to build the first vehicle lithium-ion battery production line and research center in Slovakia.
