Job description

The Project Manager is the single point of accountability for contracted BESS projects, owning delivery from kick-off to final customer acceptance. The position leads both the customer relationship and internal cross-functional teams, ensuring scope, schedule, budget and quality commitments are met.

  • Own the full project lifecycle for contracted BESS projects — from kick-off to final acceptance and handover — ensuring scope, schedule, budget and quality targets are met.

  • Build and maintain detailed project plans covering milestones, resource allocation, dependencies and deliverables; keep them live, not just filed.

  • Drive schedule adherence by proactively identifying slippage early and implementing corrective actions before they become customer issues.

  • Manage project financials: track costs vs. budget, flag deviations, and work with commercial teams on change orders, claims or contract adjustments.

  • Act as the primary interface to the customer throughout the project — building trust, managing expectations, and escalating or resolving issues with confidence.

  • Provide structured, consistent project reporting to internal and external stakeholders: status, risks, decisions and outlook — no surprises.

  • Facilitate project reviews, steering meetings and technical workshops with customers, subcontractors and internal teams.

  • Manage scope changes formally: document, assess impact, obtain approvals and update the baseline — avoid scope creep eroding margin.

  • Lead a virtual project team spanning engineering, procurement, logistics, commissioning and service — align priorities, resolve blockers and keep everyone moving in the same direction.

  • Coordinate with supply chain and manufacturing to protect material availability and avoid site readiness failures.

  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, internal quality standards and relevant safety and regulatory requirements.

  • Organise structured handover of completed projects to operations, service or the customer's own teams, with full documentation in place.

  • Maintain a live risk register; present risks and mitigation options clearly to support management decisions - don't sit on problems.

  • Capture lessons learned from each project and actively feed them back into improved processes, templates and estimating assumptions.

  • Contribute to the development of BESS project management standards, tools and best practices within the team.
